Falsified Research Data

By admin On December 28th, 2009

The following article may be of your interest

http://journals.iucr.org/e/issues/2010/01/00/me0406

This is an editorial of Crystallographica Section E. Two authors from China had used falsified data and published 41 papers in this journal in 2007. The journal has retracted these papers.

My reaction was, other than the unethical research and publication practice, I question the journal’s review process (the editors, reviewers etc) and the ability to publish 41 papers in one year. It is like, other than jailing and prosecuting the plane bomber, we must also review our airport security practice and the work of all the related TSA employees.

I hope this never happen in our transportation journal.
